TCP Connection Failed / HTTP Connection Failed (ParaChat v6.0)
Problem:
Why do I see a "TCP connection failed" and/or an "HTTP connection failed" message in the ParaChat Professional chat window?Solution:
You will see the "TCP connection failed" and/or "HTTP connection failed" messages appear in the ParaChat v6.0 chat window when your firewall is blocking traffic to the TCP/IP and HTTP ports used by the ParaChat Professional chat room to communicate with the ParaChat server. This is also demonstrated in your Java Console, which will display:Trying TCP connection to pro5.parachatpro.com:8255 ...
Trying HTTP connection to pro5.parachatpro.com:8355 ...
Your firewall would need to be configured to allow TCP/IP traffic on port 8255, and/or HTTP traffic on port 8355, so that you can connect to the chat server from behind your firewall using one of these two available protocols.
Be certain to review the data contained in your web browser's Java Console for specific port and host information for the chat room to which you are connecting.
